About the Artist: Nan Bruno
Award winning artist Nan Bruno has enjoyed a long and successful career in various areas of graphic design, such as fleet design, in-store advertising, and packaging. The versatile St. Paul artist, who works out of her home studio under the critical eye of "Golda Meow" and her other art savvy-cats, is also known for her Oriental brush work, as well as for her portraits of cats and dogs and wild animals executed in pastels and other mediums. Her lifelong commitment to animal-welfare causes has encompassed both domestic and wild animals. She has volunteered at shelters for companion animals and has assisted with wildlife rehabilitation. In the latter capacity, she helped with a large, intimidating sibling group of young blue herons, all raucously clamoring to be fed at the same time. Though she fled the noisy heron nursery to pursue less daunting volunteer activities, she has no intention of leaving her art work. "One doesn't retire from art!" says Nan.
